AMD has announced the availability of its range AMD A-Series Chips APUs, mixing processor and graphics card for laptops. The A4 chip, A6 and A8 are the machines midrange and upscale.
Rather in the hollow of the wave currently on processors for laptops, AMD intends to restart the machine with its new Fusion AMD A-Series Chips platform.
From the Llano architecture, the AMD A-Series Chips are realized by APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) which actually include a processor (CPU) and a graphics solution (GPU). This does not mean that New AMD A-Series Chips dropped the Radeon graphics cards.
Three families come form the "Series A" which aims laptops from mid-range to high-end.
AMD A-Series Chips Features
A4 APU feature a dual-core CPU and a Radeon HD 6480G as a graphics card. A6 have a quad-core processor and a HD 6520G GPU Radeaon while APU A8 are also quad heart but have a Radeon HD 6620G.
These solutions should cover a range of laptops ranging from 499 dollars to 699 dollars more.
AMD A-Series Chips Specifications
All AMD A-Series Chips have a fashion "Turbo Core" similar to that found on processors Intel with Turbo Boost. The frequencies of processors ranging from 1.9 GHz to 2.1 GHz (up to 2.5 GHz with Turbo Core) for A4 APU models while quad-core A6 and A8 have frequencies ranging from 1.4 GHz 1.9 GHz (from 2.3 to 2.6 GHz with Turbo Core) depending on model.
The manufacturer of semiconductors also emphasized the autonomy now expected to be around 10 and a half hours.
AMD expects that 150 laptops are equipped with latest AMD A-Series Chips chips soon.
